Lumecca is InMode's well-known IPL platform — a single handpiece covering a 515–1200 nm spectrum. Harmony XL Pro from Alma Lasers takes a different approach: AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology) with two specialized handpieces — Dye-VL for vascular work and Dye-SR for pigmentation and photorejuvenation. Paramed doesn't run Lumecca as a separate platform — IPL scenarios live on Harmony XL Pro.

Lumecca is InMode's flagship IPL platform, known for high peak power output and a universal handpiece (515–1200 nm spectrum). It's often searched for as "Lumecca photofacial", "Lumecca Baku" or "Lumecca pigmentation". Harmony XL Pro from Alma Lasers is a platform built around AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology): the IPL pulse is pre-filtered so that unproductive short wavelengths are converted into useful ones. Harmony XL Pro runs two specialized IPL handpieces: Dye-VL (~500–600 nm range, optimized for vascular work — rosacea, couperose, telangiectasia, port-wine stains) and Dye-SR (~540–950 nm, for pigmentation and photorejuvenation). The fundamental difference is philosophy: Lumecca bets on "one handpiece for everything"; Harmony XL Pro uses specialized filters for specific concerns. At Paramed, Lumecca isn't available as a separate platform — we work on Harmony XL Pro. Contraindications apply.
At the consultation the specialist assesses Fitzpatrick phototype, the nature of the concern (pigment, vascular, tone, photo-aging) and overall skin condition. If the primary concern is vascular (rosacea, couperose, telangiectasia, port-wine, angiomas), we use the Dye-VL handpiece. If the concern is pigmentation (lentigo, photo-aging, uneven tone) or comprehensive photorejuvenation — Dye-SR. For mixed concerns we sequence both handpieces within the same session. That gives better specialization than the "universal" IPL approach Lumecca takes.
Lumecca is IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) — a broadband flash with a 515–1200 nm spectrum. One handpiece, one pulse geometry, adjustable duration and fluence. Thanks to high peak output, results are often visible after 1–2 procedures (especially on solar lentigo and mixed dyschromia). Harmony XL Pro works differently: AFT converts unproductive short wavelengths into a useful, safer range — that lowers burn risk and raises efficacy at relatively low fluences. Dye-VL is an AFT pulse passed through a dye that leaves ~500–600 nm (the sweet spot for hemoglobin). Dye-SR is a different dye that leaves ~540–950 nm (balanced for melanin and skin renewal). So Harmony XL Pro isn't "the same kind of IPL as Lumecca" — it's IPL with two specialized windows for different concerns.
Not as a standalone platform. At Paramed, IPL scenarios run on Alma Lasers Harmony XL Pro with AFT. We have two specialized IPL handpieces: Dye-VL for vascular work (rosacea, couperose, telangiectasia) and Dye-SR for pigmentation and photorejuvenation. In terms of clinical use, this is a direct analogue of what Lumecca is typically used for.
On comparable protocols, the results are comparable. Lumecca has high peak output and a single handpiece — sometimes visible effect after 1–2 sessions. Harmony XL Pro with AFT has two specialized handpieces (Dye-VL and Dye-SR), which gives more targeted work per concern. For mixed cases, both handpieces are available within a single session.
AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology) is Alma Lasers' technology: instead of filtering out unproductive short wavelengths, it converts them via dye fluorescence into a useful range. The result: less wasted energy, lower burn risk and higher efficacy at relatively low fluences. Lumecca is standard IPL without AFT conversion.
All IPL/AFT systems carry restrictions on darker phototypes (IV–VI) — that's the general principle of broadband light. At Paramed, phototype is assessed at consultation, and if needed the protocol shifts toward Nd:YAG 1064 nm or ClearLift (also on Harmony XL Pro), both safe for dark skin.
A standard photorejuvenation/phototherapy course is 3–5 sessions at 3–4 week intervals. For pronounced pigmentation or vascular networks, more may be needed. Maintenance sessions 1–2 times a year.
Dye-PL photorejuvenation (AFT) — full face 200 AZN, half face 100 AZN, one-third face 80 AZN. ClearLift as an add-on — 300 AZN for the full face. The full price list is in the "Pricing" block above.
If you've been choosing between Lumecca and our IPL platform, come in for a consultation. We'll assess your phototype, look at your pigment or vascular concerns, and propose a specific protocol on Harmony XL Pro AFT.
